Social Media (in relation to brand and marketing strategy) does not just happen spontaneously!

So, if there is no concerted effort and commitment by Apple to use and invest in Social Media as part of their integrated marketing efforts then how is it a failure?

I have seen no evidence of ANY social media commitment from Apple around the iPhone, iPod or iPhone App store so the article is using a false premise.
