Generating money like Hollywood does
The Hollywood repackaging
When Hollywood creates a product it just doesn’t sell it once but multiple times:
1) Movie theater tickets
2) DVD release
3) TV premium channel broadcast
4) TV public broadcast
In fact Hollywood manages selling the same product over and over again and in several occasions even to the same customer.
Single B2B products
In B2B however, a sale of a product is just in one format and in some cases to just one customer. How could we sell the same product over an over again ?
It is the packaging of the same product or solution allowing selling the same product.
Several, if not most, companies in software development have managed more or less similar: they develop a software for a specific client and include this new feature or function in their next release of their software product.
Still the multiple reselling like Hollywood achieves is unseen in B2B. Generating money like Hollywood is not feasible in B2B. Maybe due to the fact the customers are more rational ?
Could you imagine selling the same product in different packages selling to different market segments ?
