Running out of content
After 2 or 3 years of Content Marketing it is likely you will be running out of subjects and matters to write content about.
Although there will be:
- New developments and methods in your business
- New events or new challenges in your market
allowing you writing about them but these will occur occasionally.
Thus instead of your previously massive stream of content you will only publish a new content limited number during a year.
The published content decay
At the same time your existing content gets degraded on Google and other search engines as it gets older and less relevant to the current time in the opinion of Google & Co. As the Search Engine Results Page scoring decreases even less people will click on the link towards your web page, resulting in an even lesser scoring on the search engines.
The solution
As your content marketing is great but it has a decreasing amount of impact over time, the only solution to this is revamping your existing content by rewriting it and republishing. You can’t reinvent the wheel but you can package and market it differently with the latest updates.
