ROI - Return On Investment

Case: Password sharing

1) Business Model: Subscription

Given: People share their Username/Password with more than 2 people.

By implementing WEBMetering, which avoids people to share their Username/password, an increase in subscriptions of 15% can be assumed. Which is still fairly low.
At the same time, the total time spend on your website will be less, due to the fact people are no longer passing on or sharing their passwords.

Thus you will see an increase of subscriptions, and less required capacity on your servers.
The cost for generating the content is not changing.
Of course there WEBMetering will have to charge you for using the service.

Benefit:
- Increase in revenue.
- Good increase of your bottom line.

Calculation example:
Suppose you charge: $10/month for each subscription:
Revenue = $10.00 x Total Number of Users
If we assume an increase of 15% subscriptions:
   Revenue = $10.00 x Total Number of Users x 1.15
                  = $11.50 x Total Number of Users
or Revenue increase of $1.50 x Total Number of Users

Conclusion:
WEBMetering charges much less than $1.50/user/month - a multiple less

2) Business Model: Advertising (with registration)

If you deploy WEBMetering, more people will be required to register, as people won't share their username/passwords.

As the barrier to register is nothing more than registration (not a subscription), we can assume a significant increase: 25%.

Moreover people won't post their Username/password anymore on Login/Password sharing sites.

Thus you will see an increase of registrations, which bring you not only a bigger community, but also more profiles.
The increased number of profiles has value to your advertisers.

As more of your visitors get identified, you will have more unique visitors and unique pageviews.
Moreover you can inform your advertisers about the time spend on you website, as this is measured per registered user. This is exactly measured and not a guessed time as with most of the WebAnalytics packages.
At the same time your costs for providing content is not changing.
Of course there WEBMetering will have to charge you for using the service.

Benefit:
- Increased number of profile.
- Increased unique visitors pro month or pro edition.
- Detailed time spend on each of your webpages.
- Increased advertising revenue.
- Good increase of your bottom line.

Calculation example:
Suppose you get as pageviews:
35$ pro 1,000 pageviews.
Revenue = $35,00 x number of thousand pageviews
If we assume an increase of 25% registrations, not only the registrations increase, but also the pageview value increases: +10%, this due to the better profiling (more unique visitors - more accurate data on Users)
+25% for increased Users and +10% for increased and better profiling
   Revenue = $35,00 x Total Number of 1,000 Pageviews x 1.25 x 1.10
                  = $48,00 x Total Number of ,1000 Pageviews
or Revenue increase of  $13,00 x Total Number of 1000-Pageviews

Assuming 120 Pageviews/user, which is 4 pages a day,
this gives a Revenue increase of $1,60/user/month.

Conclusion:
WEBMetering charges much less than $1.60/user pro month - a multiple less
